An all-knowing and all powerful guide of resources in your Union.
Hello #UNT2021! And everyone else who might not know exactly what services their student Union offers.
For those of you who don’t know, the UNT Union as we know it opened in November of 2015. Still bright and shiny and new, the Union has a ton of space and lots of benefits for UNT’s students. Such as:
If you didn’t know, dining at UNT is dope. The Union is pretty much the epicenter of retail dining on campus. You can find out what the rest of your dining options are, including information about dining halls, here. Here’s what food options are in the Union:
- Fuzzy’s Tacos
- Jamba Juice
- Taco Bueno
- Which Wich
- Burger King
- Krispy Krunchy Chicken
- The Corner Store
- Mia’s (woodfire oven baked pizzas)
- Sushi (hand-made every day!)
- Salad Bar
- Sauté (cook-to-order Asian and Italian noodles)
- Avesta (a full-service sit-down restaurant)
With all of these options, students are never hungry here! Fuzzy’s Tacos even offers late-night hours during the school year, when they’re open till 11:30.
In addition to our retail dining, we also have a couple of retail stores in the Union. The Mainframe is an Apple store on campus where you can get Macbooks, iPads and other accessories with an educational discount. Also, there’s the Barnes and Noble bookstore, where you can not only buy textbooks (they do price matching y’all!), buy UNT officially licensed merchandise, and other goodies.
Fuzzy’s is located in The Syndicate, which is one of the coolest places on campus. Many events are held in the Union Syndicate, like jazz nights, live music, karaoke, and buzztime trivia. There’s always something going on in the Syndicate, but even when there’s not, you can play pool or rent multimedia equipment and video game consoles to use in one of our second floor pod areas.
In addition to the Syndicate, there’s also plenty of other places you can use to chill. There’s ample, more laid back seating tucked throughout the Union, designed for studying or nap sessions, whatever floats your boat.
If the weather is nice, try hanging out on our Rooftop Terrace (fourth floor) or our balcony by the south lawn or the south lawn itself, which offers a serene setting to eat lunch or read a book. If you need serious zen, or a place to quietly pray or collect your thoughts, we have a Meditation Room on the fourth floor for whatever you may need.
The Union also has a lot of services that you might not know about! The Dean of Students offers a food pantry for students located in Union 409. There’s also Student Legal Services in suite 411, Multicultural Center in Union 355, and the Pride Alliance in 372. Whatever you need, there’s a good chance it’s in the Union. But, if it’s not in the Union, just ask the information desk at the second floor, they’ll point you where you need to go.
Basically, what we want you to know is that the Union is here for you! Message us on Facebook, call the information desk, or just ask any employee you see. We are all happy to help you find what you need and ensure you love your experience at UNT. We will see you soon!
