Best Breakfast Places in Denton Part 1

The Avesta in the UNT Union was one of the best places on campus to get breakfast at. While it’s closed until the UNT Union reopens in fall 2015, there are some great options available. It was said, probably by your mother, that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. As a college student, eating breakfast is probably a low priority for you, but it really is important. Eating breakfast can help curb your hanger and help you avoid the dreaded Freshman 15. A recent study found that people who ate breakfast as their largest meal lost an average of 17.8 pounds over three months. Plus, your body needs fuel. There’s no reason that fuel has to be boring or tasteless. In no particular order, here is a list of some the best breakfast places in Denton, TX.

Seven Mile Cafe and Coffee Company

Seven Mile Cafe was founded less than four years ago, but has quickly become a Denton favorite. They serve creative versions of Texan’s favorite breakfast classics in a casual, friendly atmosphere. Their popularity has lead them to add a second location in Highland Village, but the one in Little D will always have our heart. Before you run those mental miles in class, stop by Seven Mile for breakfast.

We might be in the North Texas, but let’s get very VERY Southern for a moment with just THREE words: BISCUITS AND GRAVY. The classic Southern dish of fluffy biscuits topped with a creamy breakfast-sausage gravy. Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast just like your granny used to make before tackling that 8 AM math class you ambitiously signed up for.

It’s the same Taco Shop that Denton college students love, but with breakfast options. Breakfast options include your standard bacon, potato, egg, and cheese fair, but a shrimp option exits too. When the new UNT Union opens, there will be a Fuzzy’s Taco Shop on campus, you’ll never be too far away from tacos.

Dining Hallsbacon-waffles

If you live on campus, going down to a buffet is pretty much the closest thing you have to still living at home. Fuel yourself with pancakes, Cap’n Crunch, sausage, and yogurt before you head off to class or shower. It’s not uncommon to see people in their pajamas. There is pretty much EVERYthing available. See individual dining hall menus for details.

Food Pavilionchickfila-breakfast

Located between Sage Hall and Sycamore Hall on the UNT campus, the location is pretty hard to beat. They offer a variety of items from several different vendors including Chickfila and Boar’s head. Some tasty chicken minis and hash brown bites can make your morning go by easier.

Starbucks in the BLBStarbucks-White-Cup

1307 West Highland Street
Denton, Texas 76201

The New UNT Union will have a full service Starbucks, but that doesn’t make this location any less legit. Located in the building you have class in, you can get your signature Starbucks coffee along with some great bargains. Bagels and fresh blueberry and chocolate chip muffins are available for a $1.
