It’s the most wonderful time of the year, time for the Annual Union Tree Lighting Ceremony! The Tree Lighting Ceremony is a long standing tradition in the UNT Union. The tradition began with the Union’s renovation in 1976. Every year the Union invites all the students and staff to join in the lighting of the Christmas Tree and celebrating the holiday season. In the old Union, the massive tree would be set up in the courtyard. But with the Union under construction, the tree stands in the Stovall Hall Lounge. With the completion of the new Union, the tree will resume its place in the building to continue on the tradition.
Continue on the tradition this year and come out tomorrow Thursday, November 20 at 4 p.m. in the Stovall Hall Lounge for the annual tree lighting ceremony. There will be live music, remarks and of course some free food!
If you are all cozy in bed and don’t want to come out but don’t want to miss the holiday spirit, you can always watch a live stream of the ceremony right here!
